Darby Conley
Darby Conley graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts in 1994, where he first published comics for the student news paper (which he says was pretty much a “Far Side” clone). For several years Darby taught as a gym teacher for elementary school grades two and four. In 1996, he started working in the The Science Discovery Museum in Acton, Massachusetts as Art Director.
Determined to create a new comic with recurring characters, sent comic strip submissions to various syndicates. Get Fuzzy was picked up by United Media and launched in 1999, and Darby won the Reuben Award for Best Newspaper Comic Strip in 2002.
Get Fuzzy’s main characters are:
Rob Wilco, a single guy who works at an ad agency
Bucky Katt, Rob’s siamese cat., who’s at constant war with…well,
just about everything
Satchel Pooch, Rob’s good natured, but very naive dog.
There are over ten books containing reprints of Get Fuzzy comic strips. This is one
of the very best comic strips being published today.
